Right now I’m thinking…

- Why is this song I’m listening to so viral even when it doesn’t make a speck of sense?

- Why oh why did they cancel Heroes? Shouldn’t everybody deserve a 2nd chance?

- Why did they cancel the Heroes tv-movie project? Shouldn’t every… err… nevermind..

- When is there actually gonna be a remake of P.Ramlee’s movies? Hollywood does it, why not Mollywood? or is that Malaywood? Or Plywood? whichever lah..

- Are you seeing a pattern yet?

- I’m kinda hungry but what’s there to eat.. Better head to the kitchen and check…

- Is my excessive use of dots really needed? — Hmm.. make that a yes. A big YES..

- Google+ really should change or spice up their pages and interface. Very drab.. not to mention dumbfounding..

- I need a new hobby and a new fav netsite.. FB is of the sux0rz..

- Better stop typing. Not that anyone’s ever gonna read this. heh.

Birthdays...

...are over-rated.

29 this year. 29. Sheesh. Where the heck did all that time go? Seems almost like yesterday I left school. In actual fact, it's been enuff time to complete school one more round... including kindergarden~!!

This year, same as any other year, I skipped on my b'day. Nothing to really celebrate I think sometimes. Look at it this way. The more b'days you celebrate, the older you get. The older you get, the closer your "expiry date" gets.

On a positive note tho, it's worth celebrating the fact that you're still alive and survived one more year. And if you have friends or family throwing a party or somesuch for you, you still have ppl that love and care for you. If no party, simple cards, emails, SMS and wishes goes along the same line, telling the same story ;-)

I for one, only got like 8 or 9 b'day wishes this year. That shows me who my real friends are. Some may just simply forget, but it does point out those that are most likely to jump ship the next time you run aground.

But then again, I shouldn't really be complaining much. I'm alive, healthy, have an honest good paying job, have friends and family that care about me. So, at the end of it all, those are the things that count. Who cares if I don't get wishes, parties or presents from the rest. It's the one that you get and the thought behind 'em all that matters. Here's to another year and hopefully many more years to come~

Next year. The big Three O. Life's midpoint (of sorts). It'll be interesting to see what will happen till then...

Today is

… really a sucky day. First half of the day anyway. Emo level maxed at super high…

Started in the morning when I couldn’t sleep. Kept waking up every couple of hours. When finally managed to sleep, I woke up late… Supposed to get to a blood screening at the office. Got ready at 10am, checked email to confirm and… it’s 7.30am – 10am. Darn it.

Fine. Let’s get to the office anyway. Wanted to see someone. That someone wasn’t there. Darn it 2. Fine. Wait for lunch. Rest of kakis cannot go out. Darn it 3. By now emo level way too high. Skip all this, go out eat and head back to own office la then.

It then rained. Heavy. Very Heavy. Ok, let’s smoke first. Take box and... box was empty. I grabbed the wrong box on the way out! Darn it 4. Fine, rain letting up, might as well get to the car and buy some at lunch. Walking.. walking.. walking.. then it poured. Got wet a bit. Nevermind. Not that bad.

In the car, realized badge was missing. WTH!!!?!! Ran around in heavy rain, retracing steps. Badge was nowhere to be found. Got soaked realllll good. Darn it 5 AND 6! Drove around parking lot, badge was nowhere to be found… Great, just great. Swell day this has been.

Back in the office, changed clothes (always a good idea to have spares) and went around getting temp passes and reporting missing badge. Then work escalation came. Darn it 7. This is so getting annoying.

Finally, everything settled and I’m typing this. All seems to be well until like 10mins ago. Right before dinner time. Guess what. It’s gonna rain again…

What is love? How do we define it? How do we figure out what it is to actually give it definition?

Love is the quintessential requirement of an individual. Every single person on this earth requires love. Wants love. Wants to be loved. How does one find love? Does fall from the sky? Does it miraculously appear before our very eyes? If one seeks it, how certain can one be that one will find it? And when one does, how does one know then whether that is really love?

Such answers can never really be found. It has to be learned. Through living life, one finds answers. Answers though they maybe, do not answer the real question. What they do is provide understanding. Understanding the nature of things unknown. With such understanding, comes realization, enlightenment, revelations. Does then one fully comprehend the true meaning of love? That is what living life is for. One will know when the time comes.

The Hand Of Fate

The universe works in strange ways. Ways sometimes unfathomable.

What is it really, fate? Common understanding would say it’s what has been written. Events that have been pre-ordained since the beginning of time immemorial. That maybe, but why then do we feel tempted to change our fates, change our destinies? If everything has been decided, CAN we change them? No one really knows. I for one, knows that the answer to that, I have not.

In recent times, fate has dealt me a sickening amount of odd hands. From life to work to love. Nothing has been what was expected. In the beginning, it all seems like everything is rosy and peachy. Like there was nothing in the world that can stop me. But then, fate is a cruel mistress… When all things seems to go up, it deals a final blow. A death blow. Then everything takes a turn… down. Going down and down in twisting spiral I seem to lose track of what’s important. Of what matters most. I resign to that fate…

But that was then. Now, after long periods of thinking, cognition and self measurement, I’ve had moments of clarity. An epiphany of sorts. A stream of conscious thoughts that has woken me from my long slumber. Where am I? What am I doing? Where am I headed? The barrage of questions never ending. To all that I now have answers for. I have risen. There will be no more hiding. No more cowering. No more sitting down while fate mocks me for my inactivity. I’m done being picked up, shaken, chewed and spat out.

Fate may deal me any hand it chooses. This time around, I will not just accept what it gives me. I will fight if needed. I will change my fate. Change my destiny. There’s nothing it can do to bring me down again. No more. The hands of fate are not all unknown. There are signs. There are portents to what it holds. Futile or not, I will exert every amount of will I have to change it if required. I will impose MY will on fate. I will make do of what comes and when the time comes, bend it to that will and make it work. Come then fate, let us see.

And again, I tempt fate…

The Great December Splurge – pt. II

So ends the car shopping spree.

After a while I got a few more things. Dunno why but I just felt like I HAD to…

First up was an ORIGINAL Cromok CD. Anyone who has known me for some time knows I do not buy original CDs. All are downloaded of the net and then burned to a disc. As can seen in my CD sleeve in the car. Blank faced discs plastered with labels using black marker pens. Some don’t even have labels! (there’s actually a very good reason for that but I can’t remember what it’s supposed to be). The CD was from Artist Gallery when I went there with Nick and Azmy. I did have a collection of Cromok MP3s a long while back but they were lost to the 3rd Great HDD crash of 2007 along with give or take 14-15GBs of my other MP3s. Was only able to recover about 10% of ‘em. Sob sob. Anyhoo, I went nuts and got the CD. Or rather CDs actually. It was a set of 2. Album was Cromok The Great – A Metal Manifest. During the trip back, Azmy surprisingly allowed me to use HIS car audio to test em. Yes. Azmy’s prized CAR AUDIO SYSTEM. Figure that. He had a listen to a few songs and is now hooked. Great strings he says. Even got around to copying the discs (piracy, I know. Tell Azmy that). Now, in all circumstances, this would have been considered normal. However… and a big however at that, Azmy has never been known to listen to such music. Why? Get the CD from me and try em out yourself… hahaha

Earlier today, before I wrote TIME, I went looking for glasses. No, not drinking ones. The ones you wear laa. It was something that I thought of after trying out Nick’s and Lynn’s glasses the other nite. Seemed quite fashionable. Heh. So, went around a bit, and got me a pair. What made my day was, the frames are TITANIUM. Pricey, but hey, that never stopped me before. Blue, half framed TITANIUM ones. Sorry, still can’t get past the TITANIUM part. Hahaha. Luckily, got kang tao price for em so wasn’t really THAT pricey. Been wearing em all day now just to get the feel. Bah, so what you say? I DON’T wear glasses. Vision’s a crisp 20/20. So that’s what…

It is now a bit later, – well, a lot later really – but still before I wrote TIME. I needed to get online to write TIME on my laptop and music was needed. That part is solved by item #1. But then, there was 1 other problem. It’s a laptop. Sound is crappy (to say the least). My BT headsets were nowhere to be found either (just remembered, 1 at home, 1 in office). Can’t listen to songs on crappy laptop speakers rite? Especially when the source is an ORIGINAL (still can’t get past the ORIGINAL part also) Cromok CD. So, what to do? Buy new earphones of course! Got out and got a pair of brand new Philips earphones. Could’ve settled for regular no name ones but since I was on a roll, why the hell not rite? Really strange ones these. It comes in 2 parts! 1 part is the usual earphones. The other is an extension cord of sorts. A regular head or earphone would be around 1.2 to 1.5m in length. This one is of the same length (1.2m in case you really wanna know) but has it split up. 60cm each. Very handy when using laptops since you don’t have a whole stretch of wire running around everywhere. Not a bad choice methinks.

So ends, my current spree. Pay is coming in tomorrow. So, I just might have part III up soon. Hope not. Hahaha :P

The Great December Splurge pt. I

I cannot sit idle and do nothing. Just can’t be done. So, write some more…

This month alone, I have bought a lot of stuff. Maybe because it’s year’s end and a lot of wishes remain unfulfilled. And I keep wondering where most of my pay went… hahaha

Part I : For the car -
My car, the ever enterprising blue Savvy recently developed some major issues. One of which is oh so very costly to fix. The ignition coil… A lot of other people have had this problem as well it seems. So, for future owners, Caveat Emptor.

Anyway. Problem was initially minor, but got worse. Quite embarassing to offer to bring people out for dinner and at then end the car couldn’t climb a hill to go back. Hahaha. So, I bought a couple of stuff and McGyver’ed a fix for it. Seems to work really well. And since I was at an accessories shop, I thought, why the hell not eh?

Got a RedLine high flow panel air filter. Woven fiber over steel mesh. Good stuff. Really good. Wanted to get this a long time back but it was never in stock. Now revs are smoother and car has nice acceleration. Niceeeee…

Then an Elevo D1 Drift short throw competition gear knob.

That was to replace the OEM one that came with the car which was making a racket when driving. Had to muffle it with tissue paper. The new one is solid alloy with leather handwrap. Feels really solid quite unlike the old one. Shifting has never been so fun. lol

And finally some lights.

 

A set of AF Projektz LED driving lights to replace my old ones which at this time has, I dunno, 2? 3? LEDs left on each side. New ones look better. Clearer and shinier. Heh.

To top it all off, as replacement to a 1 side blown headlight, a pair of DLAA 4500k Xenon super white bulbs. Still thinking on this one. The last time I used super whites, kena saman once. RM300… dem. But that was 7500k ones. The new ones are a bit more law enforcement friendly. – I hope…
